Thanks to Fay at the Crazy Calf Lady's Farmers Market booth today, I had the opportunity to taste the wonderful Pawpaw. And Fay had them to share thanks to the generosity of David Burris who was quickly selling out of the last of his summer corn. On the left is the ripe Pawpaw as it comes off the tree. At right is the sweet inside complete with the huge seeds that take up much of the space.
As reported in the Pawpaw theft article in 2021, the pronunciation is believed to be "paw paw" like cat's paws. Comments | Permalink
