Around mid day on Saturday, over the course of about ten minutes, 5 great egrets glided in for a landing at Lake Shelby. This did not sit well with one of the local Great Blue Herons, who took it upon himself to chase the egrets each time they roosted, eventually driving them high into the surrounding trees. By Tuesday, at least two of the great egrets seem to have established their right to fish alongside the local blues. Comments | Permalink
