A beautiful bloom on a cold winter day

Marie writes, "I've never had an orchid. I fell, broke my ankle a couple years back. Had to have surgery. A good friend bought this for me in the gift store when she took me for surgery. It had a few blooms. It's never bloomed since. Which after researching it's not unusual for an orchid. They can bloom every year to two years, worth the wait, the bloom is beautiful. I found the most fascinating article about this plant at orchideria.com. It has no soil. It has aerial roots...relies strictly on water and air.
