Dori, at right, and Holly Ballou served as acolytes Sunday, January 22, 2023 at Columbia United Methodist Church. They are pictured waiting to have the flames lighted and walked to the altar as a symbol of Jesus coming into the presence of the worshipers. Afterward they will go back to the pew with their grandparents, George and Doris Critz until the end of the service, when acolytes carry the light to the back, symbolizing Christ going with his people into the world.
