Trout Lily show continues

I checked back by my favorite patch of trout lilies earlier this week to find that the cold snap had stopped the blooms entirely. But today's warm weather brought forth hundreds of the small yellow flowers.
According to virginiawildflowers.org, Erythronium americanum "plants come up, flower, and go to seed-all in about three weeks time," so it's worth taking a walk in the woods this week and next. Comments | Permalink
