Travel: Treasures on display in the Landesmuseum

On their trip to Germany, the Arnolds paid a visit to The Old Palace (German: Altes Schloss), a former castle located in Stuttgart, which is home to the Landesmuseum.
Wikipedia says that "The Landesmuseum Wuerttemberg (Wuerttemberg State Museum) is the main historical museum of the Wuerttemberg part of the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg. It emerged from the 16th-century 'Kunstkammer' (Cabinet of art and curiosities) of the dukes, later kings, of Wuerttemberg who resided in Stuttgart."
Among the curiosities in the photo is a globe at bottom left that may have been presented by Johann Anton Riedinger as an inaugural gift in the mid-1700s to the then Duke of Wuerttemberg. Comments | Permalink
