Working together for Sheriff's Deputies pay

Magistrate District 4 Chris Reeder, at left, dug in and worked with all sides of the leadership of Fiscal Court, plus Sheriff Josh Brockman, to help bring about agreement to raise Adair County Deputies by $5 an hour to bring them in alignment with surrounding counties. At right is a happy AC Judge Executive, Larry Russell Bryant, who says he is proud to be able to work together. Bryant pushed for an occupational tax that would raise all county employees and give ability to grow the county in all ways. He was able to get a half percent instead of the one percent most counties in the state have. The ordinance called for that to be reduced to a fourth percent starting in 2025 which Reeder voices objection to. Comments | Permalink
