Jyn Yates gives women drummers book to ACPL

Jyn Yates, center, Adair County native and accomplished drummer, made a presentation to the Adair County Library - a book about women drummers from prehistoric times until the present. The book follows Viola Smith, who died at age 109, and created the first all female orchestra during World War II. She presented the book in memory of her grandmother, Dimple Yates. Jyn has traveled extensively with her drumming career and is available to do lessons for local students. Comments | Permalink
