Kentucky Emergency Management called on Adair County's Breeding Area Volunteer Fire Department (BAVFD) to help with the crisis situation in Albany, Clinton County, where the main pumping station froze and their water reserve was out. They'd been dealing with problems all during the storm. BAVFD has a tanker that can haul potable drinking water and was able to send two men, Captain Brandon Harvey and Firefighter Roger Firkins, with the truck. In a long Sunday shift, they hauled 15,000 gallons of water from the nearest water district in Static, TN and brought it back to Albany. Once home, they had to carefully drain the tanker to make sure the pump didn't freeze. Comments | Permalink
