The Runaway Bunny

2026-03-04 - Fairplay, KY - Photo by Veronica Arnold
Veronica writes, "When I see crocus flowers I remember the children's book The Runaway Bunny. Parents might recognize the artwork as the same from Goodnight Moon. The momma bunny putting her baby bunny to sleep is the same momma bunny talking to her runaway bunny. When I see the crocus flowers I think of how momma bunny will always find her baby!

Flowers are like that. Not only are they bright and cheerful, and these in particular race against the other bulb flowers to be the first to emerge. But when we see them they trigger a memory, or a face, a story. What do you recollect? Did you read that children's book to your babies?"
