Mayor signs Earth Day proclamation

The Lindsey Wilson College Sustainability and Environmental Studies Program joined Mayor Pamela Hoots at City Hall on Wedneday, April 19, 2023, for the signing of a proclamation designating Saturday April 22 as Earth Day in Columbia.

Prevent child abuse in April and every day of the year

Community partners in Adair County recognized child abuse prevention this month. They also had helpers from Mrs. Marcy Ryan’s 1st grade at this FRYSC school event. They shared that they "talked, laughed and drew some creative chalk drawings." Family Resource and Youth Services Centers remove the non-academic barriers to student achievement, bridge the gaps to needed resources, and collaborate the resources of schools and communities for the success of students, families, and communities.
