Mystery - is it a rock or fossilized dinosaur egg?

Brother Bill Davenport asked his creative daughter-in-law Cayce to send photos of this mystery he found in hopes that sharing it on Columbia Magazine might bring out possible geology enthusiasts to identify it.
The image is a compilation of different angles of the rock (or fossilized dinosaur egg?), as well as the inside where it has split half (top right). He highlighted a "shadow shape" found in the center to make it more clear in the photo. Comments | Permalink

He is receiving his award from Richard Phelps and pictured with them are Mayor Pam Hoots, ACJE Larry Russell Bryant and Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Ellen Zornes.
