Planned test of Emergency Alerts on October 4

FEMA, in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA) at approximately 2:20pmET on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. The WEA portion of the test will be directed to all consumer cell phones.

Tourism investment made for marketing

Paige Nickel, Executive Director of the Adair County Tourism and Convention Commission, accepted the $29,248 check from the Kentucky Department of Tourism to support travel marketing and promotion. Paige said, "The Adair County Tourism and Convention Commission is thrilled to receive these funds from the state. We plan to expand our county marketing efforts nationwide in hopes of bringing more visitors to our beautiful college and lake town."

Ground broken for new Franklin Ford building

Governor Andy Beshear, Representative Amy Neighbors, Mayor Pamela Hoots, and Gas Supervisor Jerry Watson joined Franklin family members Barbara, Dan, Don Jr., Eddie Jr., Ben, Daniel and Nathaniel, in the official groundbreaking ceremony for the new Franklin Ford building on the site of the special announcements Tuesday.
