Collections donated to Cally's House

Cierra Bowman has overcome addiction and loves to share her story in hopes of helping others. On her birthday, she collected donations for JOY Ministries' "Cally's House" in Cally's memory. Cierra and her Aunt Diane Benningfield hope anyone out there that is battling addiction reaches out to someone for help.

Objects with meanings make art

Phil Hanna, at left, shared this keepsake frame, quilts, drawings, old letters, photos, and a sermon in a walk through his family history. He believes art is made up of objects with meanings. He was the guest presenter at the February 8, 2024 meeting of the Adair County Arts Council. The group continues to reach out to all who create in effort to showcase local creations in music, painting, fabric, carving, theater, writing, sculpture, jewelry, metal, ceramic, dance, photography and more.

Officers begin second term in Adair Arts Council

Anne Bird, center, textile artist, began her second year as president of the Adair County Arts Council at the February meeting. She and her husband Alan, at left, are owners of arts studios in Sparksville. Painter Karen Rowland, at right, accepted the job of secretary for the second year.
