Landscape Photography: Adding the Human Element #5

2024-02-20 - Mesa Arch, Canyonlands National Park, Utah - Photo by Robert Ellis, Robert Ellis Woodworking
Robert writes, "I'm always on the lookout for interesting "street" type photography; even in crowded National Parks. I like the human element activity in this photo a lot...and since it's near impossible to capture beautiful landscapes without other visitors to the park, in my opinion, adding people into the composition sometimes can add more appeal, causing the casual observer to take a longer look at the photo. Pic taken October 2022."

Scenic Kentucky: A step back in time

2024-02-20 - Christian Co., KY - Photo by Pen
The front porch of the Simply Rustic store in Crofton, KY, lit by the morning sun, reminded me of country stores in Sulphur Well and Portland, among others. The vintage store is on Main Street, which doesn't really seem to be the main street anymore, with most of the commerce happening around the corner on Highway 41.

2024-02-20 - Somerset, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com
GiGi, 6, is the little one in the middle. Her Mom, Lizbeth, at left, and her grandmother, Fabiola, at right, serve up the 42 flavors coming to New Columbia soon. Fabiola makes all the flavors, like this yummy coconut sampled by this Columbia Magazine food taster.
