New mural officially unveiled

A crowd gathered at the corner of South Reed Street and Jamestown Street on Monday, June 15, 2026, to join Columbia Mayor Pam Hoots and local artist Tezon Mitchell for the unveiling of Mitchell's mural of Mark Twain, featured prominently on the side of the Sweat Pea's Building.

The mural features a famous quote by Twain, "My mother had a great deal of trouble with me, but I think she enjoyed it."
