ACHS senior Gracelyn Janes joins US Air Force

Gracelyn Janes will be leaving for the United States Air Force after graduating from Adair County High School. She took the final step in this process last week. Gracelyn will be the first in her family to join the Air Force. Today, she has the support of her family: April Janes and Micah Janes. Also, in support are her recruiter, Sergeant Alexandria Woods, her Cadet Corps instructor, Krystal Redmon, and Principal Chad Parnell. Kristin Jacobson has been selected to serve on the Children's Advocacy Centers of Kentucky board of directors.
She has worked for several years with the Lake Cumberland Children's Advocacy Center (LCCAC) based in Russell County, as assistant director, and now director. Her interest in the Center began when she interned with the LCCAC while a student at Campbellsville University's Carver School of Social Work. She also served through the years as a volunteer.

The Lake Cumberland Children's Advocacy Center serves children who are alleged victims of sexual abuse, severe physical abuse, or witness to violent crimes. The cheerful signage and logo, "Plant A Smile, Save A Child!" greets families when they enter both of the LCCAC Centers in the ten counties they serve. Comments | Permalink Older Photos
