Drop box for new Adair tax and license fees

Sheila Blair announced a new drop box has been installed in the Adair County 911 building entryway for depositing payroll tax payments and/or license fee payments. The small flap under the wall hanging is located to the right as you enter the entry lobby at 107 N High Street, in Columbia.

Some trucks needed, many need the bypass

Some big rigs have to come to the historic Adair County Public Square to make regular deliveries and we wouldn't want it any other way. However, many are either being misdirected by GPS or aren't aware of the Veterans Memorial Bypass - or aren't aware of the need because there is no signage directing large trucks to use the bypass.

Congratulations Jameah and Emily

Metcalfe County Schools has TWO winners in the 2024 Kentucky Department of Agriculture Poster and Essay contests. Jameah Kirby is the statewide 5th-grade winner of the essay contest, and Emily Shaw is the statewide 12th-grade winner of the poster contest. The theme of this year's contest was "Agriculture for a Better Kentucky." Jameah and Emily will each receive a $100 check from KAEC (Kentucky Agriculture and Environment in the Classroom). Both are invited to a statewide awards ceremony at UK's Kroger Field and a UK baseball game at Kentucky Proud Park.
