The Mid-State Transfer Station, L Willis Rd, Columbia, was a busy place Friday and Saturday. Everything that was not needed had a place to go to help citizens of Adair County clean things up around farms, homes and businesses.
For next time, this is a list of the few things not allowed: Tires, Dirt (Silage Plastic), Wet Drywall, Manure, Dead Animals, Concrete, Rocks, Stacks of lumber, Steel cables, Burn Barrels, Capacitors, Hazardous Chemicals, and Tanks (acetylene, oxygen, propane). Northern Lights over Kentucky

Lindsay writes, "Just another picture of God's artwork on display! Had the opportunity to see the Northern Lights from our house last night in Leitchfield, KY."
NOAA is predicting that the Geomagnetic Storm is likely to persist through Sunday, May 12, 2024, so there may be more chances for an unusual glimpse of the Northern Lights as far south as Alabama. Comments | Permalink

John Muir, naturalist, author, environmental philosopher, botanist, zoologist, glaciologist, and early advocate for the preservation of wilderness in the United States, is known by many as Father of America's National Parks.
