Poison Ivy leaves to watch out for

Leaves of three - let it be, that's a lesson that's best learned before exposure to Poison Ivy. Cleveland Clinic reports that up to 90 percent of us get an itchy rash reaction anytime we touch these leaves, or even an object that has been in contact with the leaves. Be careful during walks, camping, farming and gardening this summer. Goats enjoy eating it with no reaction, so renting or purchasing a few may be a happy way to get rid of Poison Ivy vines. However, as with any good idea, there are challenges - we tried that here once but the goat had a bad attitude and got the Sheriff called on us when it ate the neighbor's chrysanthemums in the fencerow. Juneteenth 2024 celebration guests

James and Joyce Johnson were among extended family members of George Caldwell, Sr., 98, who gathered for the third annual Juneteenth black tie gala Saturday evening. Mr. Caldwell was honored for his lifetime accomplishments and service to the area from his farm in Coburg, KY. In addition, James was recognized for his service in the US Army along with other Veterans at the special event. Comments | Permalink
