Pharmacy family gathers with owner - wife, mom, grandma

Century Medicines Express Pharmacy founding pharmacist Sheila Pyles Bryant officially retired this week. Her family gathered around her at the official announcement and store closure. Her daughter Heather noted that it was a full family business with the kids growing up in it. Century Medicine customers will now be served by David Bowman's Columbia Pharmacy. Tree lost during Thursday evening storm

One of the big trees in the yard at the Shepherd Shop in Columbia across from the entry to the Adair Schools campus was downed during the Thursday afternoon storm. It was likely planted by Father George Bowling who started the shop to help people in need. Comments | Permalink

Crane driver able to climb out of wreck

The driver hauling the crane was able to climb out of the truck, flipped onto its side in the storm and on the wrong road. His was one of two trucks bound for Hopkinsville, KY so he was able to catch a ride with the second one and get home. The huge rig will remain on the side of Industrial Park Road until tomorrow, however, it doesn't hinder folks getting to the AC Fair where the carnival continues Friday and Saturday.
