Kentucky Color: Bidding Summer Adieu

2024-09-22 - Great Wooded South - Photo by Billy Joe Fudge
Billy Joe writes, "With the sun dropping behind Lindsey Hill and at my back, I caught the last yellowing illumination of the Summer of '24. This is the 30th Summer's end these Dogwood have seen since my son Cameron and I transplanted them from our lot in Woodland Acres.

I love how the late Summer, yellow light gives a neon effect to the red fruit. And yes they are fruit and not berries. Also, notice the buds are already set but will have to take a nearly 7 month nap before blooming next Spring."
