The Christmas Tree contest is underway at the Genealogy Center and one of the first to arrive was the Adair County Arts Council tree. The beautiful gold foil garland was made and placed on the tree by Joyce Coomer who also designed the logo cards dotted about the tree. Other ACAC members added items to the tree reflecting all areas of the arts - music, writing, photography, textiles, design, painting, etc.

Billy Joe writes, "A light lunch in the Great Wooded South during a day of cruising timber is a necessary respite. Picking a scenic location is a consideration, but a dry log for a seat/table/hatchet-receptacle is a must!"

Snow Skiing

2024-12-01 - Columbia, KY - Photo from Doug Beard
Doug writes, "Every year when the first snowflakes start to fall, I remember the love my father had for snow skiing. He skied throughout Europe in the 1940's and 1950's including the Olympic villages in Innsbruck, Austria Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany - Lillehammer, Norway.

While skiing in Lillehammer one winter season, he finished in 2nd place in the downhill competition. I treasure the stories of his adventures and his ski jacket is proudly displayed in my office!"
