Robert writes, "While I was out riding my motorcycle Saturday around the Coburg area, this horse caught my eye. I could have probably taken a photo from the road, but after contemplating the scene I decided it was worth knocking on the farm owner's door to get permission in the hopes of getting a closer and better photo. Many thanks to Georgia for granting me that access!" Comments | Permalink Birds of Kentucky: American Robin

According to the Merlin Bird ID app, the trees of Kentucky are full of songbirds. On a Saturday drive around northern Adair County, Merlin identified scores of red- and white-eyed vireos, palm warblers, Kentucky warblers, Tennessee warblers, and summer and scarlet tanagers in the treetops. All of them proved too fast or too elusive for my skills with a camera, but the robins, year round and dependable Kentucky residents, are much more cooperative.
