Birds of Kentucky: Treetop Romance

A pair of Red Tailed Hawks, briefly meeting in the treetops. All About Birds says that "Courting birds fly with legs hanging beneath them, or chase and swoop after each other, sometimes locking talons. Mated pairs typically stay together until one of the pair dies."

Kentucky Color: Song Leader

Billy Joe writes, "My Pa, James Alvin (Ab) Fudge, was born July 4, 1892. He was a song leader for a number of years at Red Lick Missionary Baptist Church. I have two of his songbooks, both from James D. Vaughan Music Publisher in Lawrenceburg, TN. The one on the left, titled Harmony Heaven, has a copyright date of 1934, and the one on the right, Hallelujah Voices, was from 1936."
