I love it when memory photos pop up on my screen - especially of our grandchildren - and this one is a real favorite. The four-year-old pictured is now a pilot, college graduate and a mechanical engineer. The caption when this picture appeared on Columbia Magazine in 2005 read, "Graham Waggener is celebrating his 4th birthday with friends and family on August 12, 2005. In this photo made at the Children's Museum in Indianapolis he is shown checking the recipe book held by the chef statue in front of the food court. Graham and his younger brother Evan highly recommend the museum as a fantastic place for all ages. They explored all three levels and protested leaving at the end of the day." Comments | Permalink

There were two new faces at the Adair County Tourism Commission September meeting Tuesday. Pictured at the Welcome and Development Center are, from left: Josie Hatcher, marketing; Tyler Maskill, new board member; and Paige Nickel, Director. Meeting topics included upcoming event participation in Downtown Days on the Public Square the first weekend in October, the Pumpkin contest at the Jim Blair Park and Recreation Center later in October and the evening Mixer at 313 Maple. Travel: A visit to Port Townsend

Robert writes, "Our itenary pre-planning had us circumnavigating 3/4 of the Olympic Peninsula and exiting on the eastern side, with Mt Ranier being the ultimate destination.
Having watched some videos of Port Angeles and Port Townsend in helping to decide which of the two ports to visit, we chose Townsend. While Port Townsend was a little out-of-way, it was selected due to some of the Victorian homes and other old architectural buildings that made up for part of the port.
Unfortunately not enough time was allotted for a relaxing, proper visit...Mt. Rainier was calling, and still hours away." Comments | Permalink
