SRO safety training for Brockman and McCarol

2026-06-12 - Columbia, KY - Photo from personal collection
The 2026 Kentucky Safe Schools Conference is in the books. Adair County School Resource Officers Josh Brockman, left, and Tracy McCarol had the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills to better serve the four schools and staff. Ensuring safe schools for our children requires a team effort from School Resource Officers, First Responders, School Administrators, Teachers, Staff, Transportation, Maintenance, and the entire community.

Brockman said, "Our guest speaker at the conference was the mother of a precious child that was taken from us in the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting where 26 students and staff was killed. She was a phenomenal speaker and powerful woman. I've seen a lot in my life and heard a lot but her story was a gut wrenching reminder of an ever changing world."
