Chili serving begins at 4:30pmCT and speeches begin at 5.

Birds of Kentucky - Great Blue Heron on ice

2026-02-06 - Adair County, KY - Photo by Donna Rieder
In a report from Clifty Creek Farm, Donna writes, "The shallow part of the creek is clear where the water is running over the rocks - running water doesn't freeze - but the deep, slow-moving areas are frozen over. The deep parts are where the fish hang out. I feel sorry for this Great Blue Heron, who's been sitting on the ice for over a week now. I'm sure this poor bird is getting hungry."
