Begley Art Gallery to feature six shows in 2026-27

A celebration of Kentucky culture and place will highlight this year's exhibition schedule at Lindsey Wilson University's Lucretia C. Begley Art Gallery. The six shows of 2026-27 will feature one of Kentucky's more unique artists while also paying tribute to the power of local places through various mediums of art.
The Lucretia C. Begley Art Gallery is located in the W.W. Slider Humanities Center. Gallery hours are 8amCT to 4pmCT Monday through Friday and by special appointment. It is free and open to the public. Comments | Permalink

Travel: Rock fences at Shaker Village

Donna writes, "These openings in the rock fences allowed smaller animals like goats and sheep to pass from one pasture to another while containing the horses and cattle. They also allowed rainwater to flow, instead of gathering up and compromising the stability of the walls." Comments | Permalink

Travel: Spiral staircase in the Treasury

Donna writes, "The craftsmanship of all the buildings is awe-inspiring, but the Treasury was my favorite, with its spiraling staircases and high brick interior walls. I also admired the old wooden floors with their square-headed nails." Comments | Permalink
