Red Ribbon Week was proclaimed in the Adair County School System by Mayor Pamela Hoots. The Red Ribbon Campaign was established by Congress in 1988 to promote the belief in and encourage a drug-free lifestyle and involvement in drug prevention efforts. Since that time, the campaign has reached millions of U.S. children and families, encouraging citizens across the nation to come together to keep children, families and communities safe, healthy, and drug-free.

The proclamation was signed at the Adair County Primary Center with Family Resource Representatives: Hali Anderson, Pam Bivens, Heather Dudley, and Kara Iqbal; along with Katie Jeffries with the Healthy Kids Clinic. Chief Evan Burton and SRO John Harris were also in attendance.
