Letter: Who needs more than 10 dogs?

Marie Freeman writes:
I don't understand who needs more than 10 dogs? Why would anybody want more than 10 dogs? And as far as euthanizing until people are more responsible with spay neuter it may become a necessity. I am an animal lover I don't want see any animal hurt. Even guardian rescues has expressed that since this no kill shelter rescue situation there are rescues that are becoming totally overwhelmed in almost a hoarding situation. I think there's a lot of animals being hurt because of people's bad behavior. And sadly sometimes bad behavior by people needs to be controlled. I guess it comes down to quality of life.

For the the animal. I think the structure other counties have had success with trying to set some kind of guideline where people are restricted on animal control, is where the new ordinance was structured. It seems to me that we will need an animal control county personnel. And I don't know if you've ever looked at the police report but look at how many animal control complaint calls. It will loosen up for the sheriff and state police that they can focus on more important crimes. Alley cat rescues is a wonderful organization. But there's nothing really local. Closest is Somerset. Perhaps using some of the kennel funds and the cattery funds to help local animals would be helpful. I don't think there's any simple answers to this. Until the humans start acting responsible!
