James Allen Morgan, 79, Russell County, KY

James Allen Morgan, of Jamestown, passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2021. He was 79 years of age.

He was born at home, in Jamestown, on March 29, 1942, one of ten children born to the late Everett and Valara Melson Morgan. He worked the family farm every day of his life, leaving the Sabbath day for rest and milking only. He was a man of simple ways, finding peace in sitting on his porch with a chew of tobacco and something to whittle in hand.



He is survived by his son, Glenn Morgan, of Louisville; his wife, Phyllis Bradshaw Morgan, of Jamestown; his brother, Ralph Morgan, of Russell Springs; his sisters, Rachel Antle and Christine Antle, both of Russell Springs; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Mr. Morgan is preceded in death by his siblings, Calvin Morgan, William Morgan, Thomas Eugene Morgan, Paul Morgan, Edwin Morgan and Marie Hadley.

Funeral Services are 3pmCT, Sunday, May 2, 2021, at Bernard Funeral Home. Burial will be in Ragan Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 12noon.

Social distancing guidelines must be followed by all in attendance. Facial coverings are required.
