Marjorie Callahan, 86, Taylor Co., KY/Adair Co., KY native (1932-2018)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Campbellsville. She was a retired factory worker, having worked for Bakelite in Illinois. Marjorie was a caretaker of the elderly after her retirement and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Finis & Gusta Mae Pendleton Bailey. She leaves eight direct living descendants, including grandchildren in Knifley and Columbia, KY and Virginia. Her final resting place will be in Brookside Cemetery in Campbellsville, KY.

Marjorie Callahan, 86, departed this life on Thursday, September 6, 2018 in Campbellsville, KY, at the Grandview Nursing and Rehab.

The funeral service for Marjorie Callahan will be Monday, September 10, 2018 at 10amCT/11amET, in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY, with burial to follow in the Brookside Cemetery, 200 Block of W Main Street, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Raymond Atwood and Bro. Dannie Nelson will be officiating. The family requests visitation 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Sunday, September 9, 2018, at the funeral home.

Marjorie Callahan, the daughter of the late Samuel Finis and Gusta Mae Pendleton Bailey, was born Thursday, March 17, 1932 in Adair County, KY. She departed this life on Thursday, September 6, 2018 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 86 years, five months and 20 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Campbellsville. She was a retired factory worker, having worked for Bakelite in Illinois. Marjorie was a caretaker of the elderly after her retirement and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Survivors include:
  • A daughter - Brenda Hatfield of Campbellsville, KY

  • A brother - Samuel Bailey and wife Patricia of Illinois

  • Three grandchildren - Ryan Hatfield and wife Emily of Virginia Beach, VA; Jenna Wright and husband Jason of Knifley, KY; and Brent Hatfield of Columbia, KY

  • Four great-grandchildren - Silas, Neva, Julia and Mattie Hatfield

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Besides her parent, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Clarice Peck and Ireda Roeder, and a grandson, Jeremy Stevens.
