She was an ordained minister and member of Phillips Chapel AOH Church of God in Louisville, KY and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Burbridge; three sons - Roy Mitchell Burbridge, Charles Marshall Burbridge & Ronald David Burbridge; two brothers - Allen & James Staton; six sisters - Nora Staton, Josie McWhorter, Sally Stone, Rachel James, Dorothy Jumper & Opal Lambert; and two grandchildren - Raymond & Barry Burbridge.

Nellie Burbridge, 95, of New Albany, IN, formerly of Columbia, died Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Rolling Hills Healthcare in New Albany.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 11amCT at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY with Bishop Norman Dukes delivering the eulogy. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5pm-8pmCT Saturday, September 8, 2018.



Nellie Burbridge, 95, formerly of Adair County, KY

She was born September 17, 1922 in Crocus, KY, a daughter of the late Tom & China Williams Staton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Burbridge; three sons - Roy Mitchell Burbridge, Charles Marshall Burbridge & Ronald David Burbridge; two brothers - Allen & James Staton; six sisters - Nora Staton, Josie McWhorter, Sally Stone, Rachel James, Dorothy Jumper & Opal Lambert; and two grandchildren - Raymond & Barry Burbridge.

She was a member of Phillips Chapel AOH Church of God in Louisville, an ordained minister and a homemaker.

Survivors Include
  • One Daughter - Joyce Burbridge of Jeffersonville, IN

  • Four Grandchildren - Jeannetta Burbridge, Gregory Burbridge, Donna Taylor (Don) Ford & Jocelyn Burbridge

  • A host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews & other relatives & friends
