John was a tree trimmer and a member of Bethlehem Separate Baptist Church. He was the son of the late James William & Margaret Walker Decker, and the widower of Ruth Marie Handley Decker. His final resting place will be in Russell County, KY, beside the church of where he was a member.

John Decker, 92, of Kalona, Iowa (formerly of Russell County) died Tuesday, August 28, 2018 in Wellman, Iowa.

Funeral service for John Decker will be 11amCT, Monday, September 3, 2018 at the Bethlehem Separate Baptist Church, 3816 West Hwy 80, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Richard Antle officiating. Visitation after 9amCT, Monday. Interment will be in in the Bethlehem Cemetery, beside the church.

He was born October 31, 1925 in Effingham, Effingham County, IL. He was the son of the late James William & Margaret Walker Decker. He died Tuesday, August 28, 2018, in Wellman, Washington County, Iowa, at the age of 92 years, nine months, and 28 days.

John was a tree trimmer and a member of Bethlehem Separate Baptist Church, Russell Springs, KY.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Marie Handley Decker.

Survivors:
  • Three sons - John Decker, Lonnie Decker, and Keith Decker

  • One daughter - Trudy Decker

  • Six grandchildren

  • Nine great grandchildren

  • Two great great grandchildren
