By Ed Waggener

Students in the Adair County School system released early every Friday, starting at 1pmCT, September 7, 2018. Dr. Pam Stephens, superintendent, announced at the August 16, 2018 meeting of the Adair County School District Board meeting.

At 1pmCT, teachers stay, students are released and buses roll, Dr. Stephens said.

Early Release Fridays (ERFs) are collaborative times which give teachers the opportunity to work with other teachers, consider intervention strategies for students who need it, and consider curriculum improvements.

Early release Fridays also are opportunities for students experiencing difficulties in a subject or who just need to catch up to remain at the school if either they or their parents wish them to do so. However, bus transportation will not be provided for those who stay.
