He was born in Russell County, KY, and was a resident of Knifley, KY, at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Abraham & Stella Johnson Brown. His wife, Nina West Brown, Knifley, KY, survives. He was the patriarch of a highly regarded family. He leaves four direct living descendants. He had many close family ties in Taylor and Adair Counties. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a retired minister of the Church of the Nazarene, and had served as pastor of Rheber, Creelsboro, King Bee and Brandenburg Church of the Nazarene and served twice as pastor of the Knifley Brethren in Christ. He was a Veteran of Vietnam, having served in the United States Army.

The family has chosen cremation and no public services are scheduled at this time.

Robert Ray Brown was the son of the late Abraham and Stella Johnson Brown. He was born Saturday, August 9, 1941 in Russell County, KY, and departed this life on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 in Knifley, Adair County, KY at his home. He was 77 years and 13 days of age.

He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a retired minister of the Church of the Nazarene, and had served as pastor of Rheber, Creelsboro, King Bee and Brandenburg Church of the Nazarene and served twice as pastor of the Knifley Brethren in Christ. He was a Veteran of Vietnam, having served in the United States Army.

Survivors include:
  • His wife - Nina West Brown of Knifley, KY

  • Two sons - Robert Wayne Brown of Campbellsville, KY; and Cydnee Jayne Praxis of Louisville, KY

  • Two grandchildren - Will Clark-Praxis and Audrey Rose Clark-Praxis

  • Two sisters-in-law - Mary Woodcox and husband Danny of Campbellsville, KY; and Betty Arnold of Columbia, KY

  • and a host of other relatives and friends
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 11 siblings. The family has chosen cremation and no public services are scheduled at this time.
