In Support of a Free Press: Subscribe to Local Newspapers A Free Press Needs You By Ed Waggener George Kolbenschlag sent this link to local to ColumbiaMagazine.com and other local media: Editorial/Free Press/Local Journalism Our hope would be that reading the NYT editorial will inspire everyone to purchase and or subscribe to local newspapers. At the least, defend their right to do what has become an increasingly dangerous job around the world. We'd encourage everyone to make a point to pick up copies of free print media as well. Many of which, like It's Just for a Smile News in Columbia, KY have huge followings and are plainspoken in editorial viewpoints. There's a tradition of great newspapers all over South Central Kentucky - not only in Adair County, but in Burkesville, Campbellsville, Edmonton, Greensburg, Jamestown, Liberty, and Russell Springs, KY, where talented generations of writers of all ages produce content worthy of space in any newspaper city in America. Today that tradition is enhanced by young journalists trained in outstanding journalism departments at Lindsey Wilson College and Campbellsville University. In reading the editorial in the NYT, we checked the newspapers in Kentucky and found that The Glasgow Daily Times and other publications of Community News Holdings, Inc in Kentucky are already listed as supporters of the New York Times 'A Free Press Needs You' stance. Professional journalists present fervently present all viewpoints on the political spectrum. When they make a mistake, they apologize and correct it. It's important to remember that a Free Press was protected in the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. This story was posted on 2018-08-15 20:36:52
