Billy Wayne Skaggs, 80, Green County, KY (1938-2018)

June 19, 1938 ~ August 3, 2018 (Age 80)
He was a native of Green County, KY and a resident of Jefferson County, KY, at the time of his death there. He leaves 13 direct living descendants. His final resting place will be in the county of his birth, in Summersville, KY. He was the patriarch of a large, close knit and loving family. He loved his family, enjoyed traveling, watching his favorite minister (Jesse Duplantis), old westerns and classic TV, working crossword puzzles, reading and watching "Jeopardy" (everyone knew not to call him). He was affectionately referred to as "Pop". He was a beloved Dad, grandfather, great- grandfather, brother, friend and so much more. He will truly be missed.

Billy Wayne Skaggs, 80 entered eternal life peacefully at his home on Friday, August 3, 2018 in Louisville, KY.

The service will be at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 209 W Court Street, Greensburg, KY, at 11amCT, Tuesday, August 7, 2018. Interment will be in Wilson Cemetery, Summersville Community of Green County, KY. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Monday, August 6, 2018, at the funeral home. The minister will be Dan Perkins.



Billy Wayne Skaggs, 80, Green County, KY (1938-2018)


Billy was born June 19, 1938 in Green County, KY. He was the son of Cleavy & James Frank Skaggs. He died Saturday, August 3, 2018, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 80 yearsm, on month, and 15 days.

He loved his family, enjoyed traveling, watching his favorite minister (Jesse Duplantis), old westerns and classic TV, working crossword puzzles, reading and watching Jeopardy (everyone knew not to call him). He was affectionately referred to as "Pop". He was a beloved Dad, grandfather, great- grandfather, brother, friend and so much more. He will truly be missed.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald; his sister Margie and her husband Albert; and sister-in-law Priscilla.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory:
  • His three children - Regina (Bryan), Steve (Tina), Michael

  • His four grandchildren - Melissa, Joshua, Miranda and Mikenzi

  • Mother of his children - Loretta Skaggs

  • His six great-grandchildren - Meredith, Mikala, Alex, Esa, Xavier, and Olivia

  • His brothers - Gene and Kenneth (Priscilla)

  • Special friend - Maybelle

  • And numerous nieces and nephews
