Sharon Kay Sherrell, Taylor County, KY (1955-2018)

September 26, 1955 ~ July 22, 2018 (Age 62)
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Whites Ridge Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Sharon loved her husband, her daughters and siblings, but the love for those seven grandchildren was never ending. Sharon loved to sing and in her final hours she sang "Sweet Beulah Land" a song she loved and a place she longed to see. She was the daughter of the late Howard Adrian Hicks & Edna Jane Sidwell Edwards. Her husband, Darrell Sherrell, survives. Her direct living descendants are two daughters and seven dear grandchildren. Her final resting place will be in Brookside Cemetery.

Sharon Kay Sherrell, 62, departed this life on Sunday, July 22, 2018 in Campbellsville, KY, at her home.

The funeral service for Sharon Kay Sherrell, will be Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 12pmCT/1pmET, in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY, with burial to follow in the Brookside Cemetery, 200 Block of W Main Street, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Dickie Rogers will be officiating. Family requests visitation from 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, on Monday, July 23, 2018, at the funeral home.

Sharon Kay Sherrell was the daughter of the late Howard Adrian Hicks & Edna Jane Sidwell Edwards. She was born Monday, September 26, 1955 in Taylor County, KY and departed this life on Sunday, July 22, 2018 in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at her home. She was 62 years, nine months and 27 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Whites Ridge Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Sharon loved her husband, her daughters and siblings, but the love for those seven grandchildren was never ending. Sharon loved to sing and in her final hours she sang "Sweet Beulah Land" a song she loved and a place she longed to see.

Survivors include:
  • Her husband: Darrell Sherrell of Campbellsville, KY

  • Her two daughters: Tammy Kaye McClure of Campbellsville, KY; and Christi Lynn Raikes and husband Bee of Bradfordsville, KY

  • Her three sisters: Louise Ford and husband Darrell, Debbie Cox and husband Jerry and Nita Tucker and husband Johnny, all of Campbellsville, KY

  • Her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Jr and Darlene Sherrell of Bradfordsville

  • Her seven dear grandchildren: Krysten Smith, Daniel Raikes, Eli Raikes, Kelsie Perkins, Sara Perkins, Grace Raikes and Joshua Raikes

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
