Coy Bennett, 76, Adair County, KY (1941-2018)

August 1, 1941 ~ July 16, 2018 (Age 76)
He was a former farmer and mechanic. He was born in Adair County, KY, the son of the late Riley Thomas & Leoner Blades Bennett. With his passing five of the ten siblings of the children born to Riley & Leoner Bennett survive. He was the widower of Carol Sue England Bennett, and the patriarch of a large, respected and steadfast SW Adair County family. He leaves eight direct living descendants. His final resting place will be in Leatherwood Cemetery in the community of Nell, Adair County, KY.

Coy Bennett, 76, of Columbia, died Monday, July 16, 2018 at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville, KY.

Funeral service will be at 12pmNoonCT, Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, with burial in Leatherwood Cemetery, 2005 Leatherwood Church Road, Adair County, KY. Visitation will be after 10amCT, Wednesday, at the funeral home.

He was born August 1, 1941 in Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Riley Thomas & Leoner Blaydes Bennett. He died Monday, July 16, 2018, in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 76 years, 11 months, and 15 days.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Sue England Bennett, three brothers, Chester, Ray & Lenin Bennett, and one sister, Earlene George.

He was a former farmer and mechanic.

Survivors include:

  • His four daughters - Crystal Bennett & Amanda Bennett both of Columbia, KY; and Talitha (Randy) Bennett & Terry (Jack) Hill both of Somerset, KY

  • His four grandchildren - Zayne Lee, Randy Bennett, Jr., Steve Corbin & Eric Corbin

  • His two brothers - Carol Wayne Bennett & Raymond Bennett both of Columbia, KY

  • His three sisters - Rosie Bennett & Mary Louise Rainwater both of Columbia, KY; and Mayrine Giles of Nicholasville, KY

  • Several other relatives & friends
