Bro. Randall McPherson, preacher of the Gospel for 60 years, dies

April 1, 1928 - July 14, 2018 (Age 90)
A great Christian servant, he preached in three states and Canada, help plant three churches, and had avocations as a sign painter, carpenter, realtor and auctioneer. He was a native of Tompkinsville, Monroe County, KY, and, at the time of his death, a resident of Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY. His final resting place will be in Christian Chapel Cemetery.. He was the son of the late Jack & Velma (Froedge) McPherson. His wife of almost 71 years, Beatrice Brown McPherson, survives. He leaves a total of 15 direct- and step- living descendants.

Bro. Randall McPherson, age 90, of Burkesville, KY, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018 at his home in Burkesville, KY.

The funeral service will for Bro. McPherson will be conducted at at 11amCT, on Thursday, July 19, 2018 in the Memory Chapel of Norris-New Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Christian Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 4pmCT on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 until the funeral hour on Thursday.



Bro. Randall McPherson, Burkesville, KY/Monroe native (1928-2018)

He was born in Tompkinsville, Monroe County, KY on Sunday, April 1, 1928. He was the son of the late Jack & Velma (Froedge) McPherson. He died Saturday, July 14, 2018, at his home in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 90 years, three months, and 13 days.

He was a preacher of the gospel of Christ for over 60 years, and during his lifetime he preached full time in Kentucky, Tennessee and Indiana, as well as holding meetings in numerous places in Kentucky, and nine other states and Canada.
BR> He was a mentor to several young men to become preachers of the gospel. He was currently a member of the Seminary Church of Christ, one of three congregations he helped to establish. He was a sign painter, carpenter, realtor and auctioneer.

He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Velma (and Lawrence) Pitcock, his father and stepmother, Jack (and Ruth) McPherson, and his beloved son, Rickey Terrell McPherson.

He is survived by his wife of almost 71 years, Beatrice (Brown) McPherson of Burkesville, KY, whom he wed on Saturday, August 23, 1947, and the following:
  • His three children, Venita (and Larry) Smith of Bowling Green, KY; Sheryl (and John) Morrison of Elizabethtown, KY; and Mark S. McPherson (and Jana Castle) of Albany, KY

  • His half-brother, Roger (and Ann) Pitcock of Indianapolis, IN

  • His six grandchildren, Sean (and Cindy) Smith of Bowling Green, KY; Lori Radford-Sandlin of Elizabethtown, KY; Chad Radford of Austin, TX; Sara Smith of Bowling Green, KY; Jason (and Sara) McPherson of Nashville, TN; and Sydney McPherson of Brownsville, KY

  • His three great-grandchildren, McPherson Smith, Saylor Sandlin and Jackson Smith

  • His step-grandchild, Lyndsey (and Vlad) Koyfman

  • His two step-great grandchildren, Gavin Burnett and Lennox Koyfman
