Irene Vibbert Martin, 90, Glasgow, KY (1938-2018)

She was a homemaker and member of the Church of Christ. She was a native of Indianapolis, IN, and a resident of Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the time of her death. She was a member of a respected South Central Kentucky family. She was a daughter of the late Joe and Nellie Britt, and the widow of Joe Vibbert. She leaves seven direct living descendants.

Irene Faye Britt Vibbert Martin, age 80, of Glasgow, died Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky.

Funeral services will be Sunday, July 15, 2018 at 2pmCT, at McMurtrey Funeral Home, 2232 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, with Brother Shane Dodson officiating. Burial will follow in the Skaggs Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be 2pm-4pmCT, Saturday, July 14, 2018, Sunday, July 15, 2018 after 8amCT until time of services at 2pmCT.

Irene Vibbert Martin, 90, Glasgow, KY (1938-2018)

Born May 9, 1938 in Indianapolis, Marion County, IN, she was a daughter of the late Joe and Nellie Britt. She died Thursday, July 12, 2018, in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 80 years, two months, and three days.

She was a homemaker and member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include:
  • One son - Danny Joe (Nancy) Vibbert, Smiths Grove, KY

  • Two sisters, Lennae Adams, Indianapolis, IN and Carolyn England, Tompkinsville, KY

  • Three grandchildren, Jeremy (Casey) Vibbert, Glasgow, KY; Bill (Shanna) Vibbert, Glasgow, KY; and Abby Vibbert, Ft. Run, KY

  • Three great grandchildren, Kaeleb, Kaeden, and Wade Vibbert

  • And a special great great nephew, Christian Brewer
She was preceded in death, besides her parents, by her husband Willie Joe Vibbert, son and daughter in law Robert Earl and Sissy Vibbert and three brothers, Tom Britt, Forrest Britt, and Larry Dean Britt.
