Ila Emerson Tarter, age 89, of Liberty, KY passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Liberty Care Center.

Funeral Services will be held at 10amCT/11amET Tuesday July 3, 2018 at South Fork Separate Baptist Church with Bro. David Coffey, Bro. Danny Bailey and Bro. Troy Coffey officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-8pmCT/5-9pmET Monday July 2, 2018 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 142 KY Hwy 49, Liberty, KY, and after 9amET Tuesday July 3rd, 2018 at the South Fork Separate Baptist Church. Burial will in the South Fork Cemetery.

She was born in Evona, KY on December 24, 1928 a daughter of the late George A. and Levona Luttrell Emerson. She died Sunday, July 1, 2018, in Liberty Casey County, KY, at the age of 89 years, six months, and eight days.

Ila was the widow of Bernal Lewis Tarter.

Ila was a former cook at the Galilean Home, a caregiver and a member of South Fork Separate Baptist Church.

Survivors include:
  • One daughter: Mary Ann and (Jimmy) Evans of Hustonville, KY

  • One son: John and (Nicki) Tarter of Liberty, KY

  • Son-in-Law: Leonard Wilson,

  • Ten grandchildren: Chris and (Alitta) Evans, Kyle Evans, Kasey and (Justin) Padgett, Aaron and (Tara) Wilson, Vance Wilson, Scott and (Jody) Wilson, Melanie and (Wayne) Hill, Stefanie and (Jared) Manes, Jacob Tarter and Emily Tarter,

  • Thirteen great grandchildren

  • Three brothers: Killis Emerson of Liberty, KY; Archie Emerson of Providence, RI; and Jesse Emerson of Indiana

  • One sister: Sally Byrd of Liberty.
Preceding her in death besides her parents and spouse were two Daughters: Martha Hilda Wilson and Billie Ruth Wilson, Son-in-Law: Willard Wilson, Three Brothers: Le Roy, Lafon and Russell Emerson and One Sister: Alpha Raney.
