Garland (Tubby) Richardson, 81, Casey County, KY (1936-2018)

Tubby was a self-employed equipment operator but was considered as a "jack of all trades." He was a man of many talents. He loved playing his guitar and singing. He was a member of a beloved Casey County, KY family. He was the son of the late Arnold & Geneva Patterson Richardson. His wife of over 62 years, Mary Jo Wheeler Richardson, survives. He leaves 12 direct living descendants.

Garland (Tubby) Richardson of Yosemite, Casey County, KY, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the Casey County Hospital, Liberty, KY. He was 81 years of age.

Funeral services are 9amCT/10amET, Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville Street, Liberty, KY, with Brother Jim Luttrell officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Springs Cemetery in Casey County, KY. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT/6pm-9pmET, Monday, July 2, 2018, at the funeral home.



Danny G. Pendleton, Justin Pendleton, Brad Luttrell, Daniel Riddle, Jamey Maupin, Michael Lawhorn, Danny Pendleton, and Greg Pendleton will serve as Tubby's pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers are: Jami, Tori and the great-grandchildren.

He was born July 9,1936 in Casey County, KY. He was the son of the late Arnold & Geneva Patterson Richardson. He died Saturday, June 30, 2018, in Liberty, Casey County, KY, at the age of 81 years, 11 months, and 21 days.

Tubby was a self-employed equipment operator but was considered as a "jack of all trades." He was a man of many talents. He loved playing his guitar and singing.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Mary Jo Wheeler Richardson, whom he married on April 21, 1956, and the following:
  • Two daughters: Deborah Meece of Yosemite, KY, and Angela (Brad) Luttrell of Dunnville, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Danny G., Tori, Jami, Justin, and Becky

  • Five great-grandchildren: Clara, Memphis, Maci, Tucker, and Westin

  • Two sisters: Iva Dean Strevels and Zonia Ree Benson, both of Liberty, KY
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gregory Garland Richardson, and one sister, Alberta Richardson.
