By Big Al Owens, the Big-Rig Trucker

Big Al had an overnight stay in Houston, Texas this week. I was hungry and definitely thirsty from the heat and humidity. Houston has unbearable heat in the summer months. It's really humid most of the time since Houston is located on the Gulf of Mexico.

I searched Google for restaurants in the area and found a 3 star pub about a mile away. I decided to walk to the establishment to get some dinner and a cool but refreshing cocktail.

The menu was short, so I decided to have the beef tamale. My 1st bite floored me with the delicious flavors of beef, guacamole, and sour cream. Wow, really satisfying and the Long Island tea quenched my thirst. I also tried the flat bread pizza which was fulfilling to my stomach as well.

I was extremely happy with Edison and Patton pub, the staff was friendly and other patrons were friendly to a Kentuckian just passing through. After sharing a shot of Kentucky bourbon and a shot of tequila, it was time for me to mosey on down the road to get some shut eye.

If you are ever down in Houston you should look for this watering hole
