Annelies Foley, 85, Russell County, KY (1933-2018)


Annelies was a homemaker and matriarch of a highly regarded Russell County, KY family. She was born February 16, 1933 in Rosenheim, Germany. She was the daughter of Franz and Anna Marie Gossl Egner. Her husband, Olbie Foley, of Russell Springs, KY, survives. She leaves 18 direct living descendants.

Annelies Egner Foley, 85, of Russell Springs, died Thursday, June 14, 2018 at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.

Funeral services will be held at 11amCT Monday, June 18, 2018 at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 406 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY, with Rev. George Otuma, A.J., officiating. Visitation is from 5pm-8pmCT Sunday at Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, and after 10amCT Monday until funeral time at the church. Interment in the Mill Springs National Cemetery, 9044 KY-80, Nancy, Pulaski County, KY.



Pallbearers: Jason Smith, Joshua Kershaw, Brian Tarter, Wade Daffron, Drake Daffron and Will Coleman.

Annelies Egner Foley, 85, Russell County, KY (1933-2018)

She was born Thursday, February 16, 1933 in Rosenheim, Germany. She was the daughter the late Franz & Anna Marie Gossl Egner. She died Thursday, June 14, 2018, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 85 years, three months, and 29 days.

Annelies was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Kershaw and a sister, Irmgard Bariel.

Survivors are
  • Husband: Olbie Foley, Russell Springs, KY

  • Three Daughters: Theresa Smith, Candler, NC; Lisa (Will) Coleman, Salvisa, KY; and Donna Foley, Hendersonville, NC

  • Four Grandchildren: Jason Smith, Ellen Renee Daffron, Jennifer Stephens, Joshua Kershaw

  • Eleven great grandchildren

  • Niece: Sophia Fisch, Germany.
