Ray Price, 83, Adair County, KY (1935-2018)

He attended Amazing Grace Church, had worked for the Adair County Board of Education as a custodian, and also for American Tobacco Company, as well as IGA in Columbia. He was a native of Adair County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of his death in Campbellsville, KY. He was the son of the late Raymond & Amanda Ermon Coomer Price and the widower of Louise Pendleton Price. He was the patriarch of a highly regarded family. He leaves 21 direct living descendants.

Ray Price age 83 years of Columbia, KY passed away Friday, June 8, 2018 at 7:45pmET, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY.

Funeral service will be Monday, June 11, 2018 at 1pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Larry Brown the officiating clergy. Interment in Freedom Cemetery, 576 Freedom Church Road, in Eastern Adair County, KY. Visitation will be after 2:30pmCT, Sunday, June 10, 2018.

He was born Wednesday, April 10, 1935 in Adair County, KY. He was the son of the late Arlis Raymond & Amanda Ermon Coomer Price. He died Friday, June 8, 2018, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 83 years, one month, and 29 days.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Pendleton Price, on March 7, 2002, a granddaughter Frona Murrell in 2015, and by one sister Bea Collins.

He is survived by:
  • Two daughters: Debbie (Carnell) Hadley of Columbia, KY; and Pam (James "Bo Bo") Murphy of Columbia, KY

  • One son: Tony Price of Columbia, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Derrick Murphy, Brian Finn, Chad Price & Ashley Price

  • Fourteen great grandchildren

  • Several nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends
Ray attended Amazing Grace Church, had worked for the Adair County Board of Education as a custodian, and had worked for American Tobacco Company and IGA in Columbia.
