Carl Gibson, Metcalfe County, KY (1941-2018)

He was a retired farmer, a faithful Baptist and member of the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. He love playing rummy (cards), going to drink coffee with his best friend. Being with family and friends. She was a member of a widely and warmly loved Metcalfe County, KY family. He was the son of the late Hartfield & Melissa Gibson, and the widower of Mayrene "Sam" Gibson. He leaves 17 direct living descendants.

Carl Gibson age 76, of Edmonton, KY, died Monday May 21, 2018 peacefully at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 2pmCT, Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East Street, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens, Edmponton, KY. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Friday and after 9amCT, Saturday at the funeral home.



Carl Gibson, Metcalfe County, KY (1941-2018)


He was the son of and son of the late Hartfield & Melissa Gibson. He was born October 12, 1941. He died Monday, May 26, 2018, in Edmonton, Metcalfe County, KY, at the age of 76 years, seven months, and 14 days.

He was the husband of late Mayrene "Sam" Gibson.

He was a retired farmer, a faithful Baptist and member of the Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. He love playing rummy (cards), going to drink coffee with his best friend. Being with family and friends.

He is survived by:
  • Three daughters: Lisa (Ricky) Lockhart; Penny (Tim) Riddle and Amanda Gibson, all of Edmonton, KY

  • Two brothers: Welby Gibson and Garfield (Jo Ann) Gibson, all of Edmonton, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Tabatha (Joe Billy) Froedge, Joseph (Julie) Cawthorn, Samantha Hunter, alll of Edmonton, KY; anbd Felicia (Chris) Meadows of Bowling Green, KY

  • Ten great grandchildren

  • Five special people he considered his sons: Jeff (Michelle) Compton of Edmonton, KY; Michael (Keisha) Compton of Somerset, KY; Ronnie (Leona) Wilson of Sulphur Well, KY; Bobby (Sherry) Ervin of Edmonton, KY; and Chris Harper of Edmonton

  • His best friend: Donnie Gilpin of Beechville, KY

  • Special people he considered his daughters: Pam (Derek) Brown, Valerie (Ronnie Mosby) Smith of Glasgow, KY; Jes Salazar of Glasgow, KY; andPenny Hines of Edmonton, KY
