Barbara Ann Young Scott, age 74 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Cumberland County Hospital, Burkesville.

Funeral service will be Sunday, May 20, 2018 at 2pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY with burial in Burkesville Cemetery. Family requests visitation 5pm-9pmCT, Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home



Barbara Ann Young Scott, 75, Cumberland County, KY (1943-2018)


Barbara was born on December 13, 1943 in Jeffersonville, Clark County, IN. She was the daughter of the late Paul & Roxie Goodhue Young. She died Thursday, May 17, 2018, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 75 years, five months, and four days.

She was a Licensed Practical Nurse for Cumberland County Hospital for 35 years, and a member of Burkesville First Christian Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her uncle and aunt who raised her, Horace and Willie Mae Norris; one brother, Lee Young; and two sisters, Ruby Canon, and Nina Anderson.

Survivors include:
  • One son: Chris Scott(and Tayra Thrasher) of Burkesville, KY

  • One brother: Johnny Young of Glasgow, KY

  • One sister: Stella Richards of Cave City, KY

  • Special friend: David Hayden of Burkesville, KY

  • and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends
